I got to paint at
church this weekend, which was so much fun. I kept imagining all kinds of good stuff (in every color imaginable) raining down from heaven. I set up a backdrop because I knew it was going to be messy to sling paint the way I wanted to. About half way through the music set, I turned the canvas upside down. I don't know how to put what I experienced into words, but it's as if I could sense the most amazing interaction with heaven to earth - earth to heaven -
changing everything with all that goodness.
Lots of kids surrounded me the whole time I painted, and it was so fun to hear all their reactions to the painting. One girl said, "I used to want to paint like her, but not any more." I had to laugh so hard. I love how kids just speak their minds. When the painting started to really come together, I heard a lot of oohs and aaahs. The children's pastor asked me to come to the kid's program and talk to the kids about painting, and what I'm doing when I paint as an expression of worship to God. I can't wait for that. It's going to be so much fun. Hope your weekend was fabulous.
