painting at church

I got to paint at church this weekend, which was so much fun.  I kept imagining all kinds of good stuff (in every color imaginable) raining down from heaven.  I set up a backdrop because I knew it was going to be messy to sling paint the way I wanted to.  About half way through the music set, I turned the canvas upside down.  I don't know how to put what I experienced into words, but it's as if I could sense the most amazing interaction with heaven to earth - earth to heaven - changing everything with all that goodness.

Lots of kids surrounded me the whole time I painted, and it was so fun to hear all their reactions to the painting.  One girl said, "I used to want to paint like her, but not any more."  I had to laugh so hard.  I love how kids just speak their minds.  When the painting started to really come together, I heard a lot of oohs and aaahs.  The children's pastor asked me to come to the kid's program and talk to the kids about painting, and what I'm doing when I paint as an expression of worship to God.  I can't wait for that.  It's going to be so much fun.  Hope your weekend was fabulous.

Emma is the girl standing up.  She was itching to paint too.  We're going to have a painting date really soon.  :-)

ps.  thank you Ashley for taking photos.  :-)
