I had more fun than ever this weekend. I got to be my daughter
Emma's Sunday school teacher at church. I was introduced as Miss Angela, Emma's mom. I briefly talked about telling God that we love Him with more than just words. We got to communicate this with body movements while we sang a song, and then we talked about communicating with color and movement. I asked three kids in the class to paint with me. While we painted, we would talk about what we were doing in the microphone, so we could all experience the process. The children painting wore painting aprons, and we talked about what colors we were using. One of the children had an elaborate picture in mind. I asked him, to think about how he could express the heart of what his picture meant with color and movement. As he painted his expression went beyond it's original concept. Another child painted straight from the heart something beyond words. While another.... well I could go on and on and on. Let's just say it was rich and beautiful.
I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn't say any other way - things I had no words for. - Georgia O'Keeffe

Love it, Angela. Learning to worship in new ways is natural to children. What a fun project.
